Welcome to the Indira National School website. We are a part of the Shree Chankya Education Society, which has had a strong presence on the education map of Pune. The Trust has been associated with Management education since 1994. The school segment has been operational since 2004.
Today we are a fully fledged CBSE affiliated school with student strength 2304 and a total staff of 113. We are committed to excellence in education from KG to PG.
About SCES:-
The Shree Chanakya Education Society (SCES) was established in February 1994, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Tarita Shankar, with the aim of providing top quality post-graduate education in the fields of Business Management, International Business and Information Technology. At a time when India was struggling to put its economy back on its feet, after the nation having pawned the “family jewels” just to keep afloat, Dr. Tarita Shankar sensed that education too would have to become more broad based and more vocational in nature if India was to stand up to the world competition in quality and price for its products, as indeed the then Finance Minister had prescribed for the economy and so, in 1994, began a saga of growth and quality in education; a story that is just reaching its zenith with 14 full fledged Institutes registering a strong presence on Pune’s educational horizon. Since inception, the Institutes managed by SCES, have maintained high academic standards and have successfully provided trained manpower to the industrial and services sector of the country. With a modest strength of 60 students pursuing a single course, SCES has grown steadily and today boasts of 14 Institutes, having more than 8000 students from all over India pursuing multi-disciplinary, graduate & post-graduate programmes. The objective of the institute is providing ‘Management education in a corporate environment’, has been possible due to the sincere and dedicated efforts of the members of SCES, who have invaluable experience in varied areas like academics, industry, service and social-work.
The Indira National School, spread out over 5 acres, not too far away from the city yet within city limits, provides fresh air and ample opportunities for the holistic development of children who will be accomplished individuals in many ways; happy and confident of leading their lot to a bright future.
Above all, children from INS will be responsible citizens of the world, with strong fundamentals and deep rooted values, to see them through the challenges of life. Swimming:-
Indira National is one of the few schools in the vicinity to have its own Swimming Pool. It has a baby pool for the little ones of class I and class II.
The baby pool is 9mts long and has a depth of 2ft.
The senior’s pool size is 25mts long and has a depth of 4ft.
The pool is staffed by qualified instructors who take the utmost care while the children are in the pool.
Swimming is a part of the curriculum for classes I to V and students look forward to swimming periods.
Meal Plan
The school is providing the facility of snacks and lunch to classes I – V and brunch for the senior classes VI – XII, in school. This is a boon to parents as children are provided with hot and nutritious food in school.
The school has engaged the services of a well-qualified nutritionist to provide the school with snack, brunch and lunch.
Play Ground:-
The school has a spacious playground of 4800 sq. mtrs.
Students in the classes I to V have 2 games/ sport periods per week and students in class VI to X have 2 sports periods.
Children are trained to play Football, Cricket, Dodge ball, Basketball and Throw ball.
Students are also trained in Karate, Skating, Yoga.
Classrooms
The school is spread across four floors and has about 60 classrooms. All classrooms are spacious and well ventilated.
Music/ Dance
The school has an enthusiastic and lively Music and Dance culture. Music and dance are a part of the curriculum from class I to V. Students are taught Indian Music (Vocal).
Basic rhythm and movement is taught in the lower classes and in the higher classes, students are exposed to various dance forms.
