It is at a distance of 111 kms from Pune. It is situated at raigad district in Sudhagad taluka, near the village Nagothane. It is situated between fort Sarasgad and river Amba flowing on the other side.

These temple is situated in Pali in Raigad district. Route from Pune to Pali is : Pune, Lonavala, Khopoli and Pali, its 111 kms. You can reach the temple only by road as there is no railway service available. When the sun rises and the rays of the sun falls on the idol every morning, this is the main attraction over here, the walls of the temple is very strong as is made of huge stone clusters. The eyes are made of jewels and the navel.
There is Huge Bell made with 5 metals was brought from Europe by Peshwas during there raid in a Church in Vasai & Sashti.
Among Astavinayakas,Ballal Vinayak at Pali, is associated with a legend where Ganapati is said to have come to the aid of a young lad, who was a fervent devotee of Ganapatiand is famous by his devotee's name.Significance of Pali – Shri Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak : Ganesha is believed to have saved this boy-devotee, Ballala, who was beaten by local villagers and his father for his single-minded devotion to him. This is the only Ashtavinayak idol to be name after a Ganesha devotee. The prasad offered to this Ganesha is Besan Ladu instead of Modak, a sweet normally offered to other Ganapatis.
Among the Ashtavinayakas, Ballaleshvara at Pali is the only Ganesha who is famous by the name of his devotee and who is dressed up as a brahmin.

Pali’s Ballaleshwar is third Ganesh out of total eight in "Ashtavinayak". There are two lakes in front of the temple. In the innermost part of the temple, there is a three-feet Ganesh idol. Also there is a huge bell of made out of five metals. After victory of Vasai, Chimaji Appa brought bells of Church. One of them was dedicated to Ballaleshwar. Same kind of bells can be seen in Bhimashnkar. Left of Ballaleshwar temple there is a historical 'Sanrasgad'. Fort lovers can reach there by two ways - via Ramali from the north Dewoolwadi and from the south. There are steps dug in stone on way to north side. At about half a kilometer you will see a fort door having two bastions. There is a lake which contains water all the year. But way from the south is more popular. There are 96 steps carved in stone. Though the steps are less in number, every step is one and half to two feet high and are very difficult to climb. From top of the fort which is 1300 feet high, Ameba river, Sudhagad, Karnala, Manikgad, Badrutin fort in Konkan and Korigad, Ghangad, Telbaillya, Nagfani forts in ghat region can be seen. Tourist can see hot water Kundas near Pali, temple of Uddhar.
You can visit this place anytime except rainy season.

By Road:It is in Sudhagad Taluka – near Nagothane. You can get bus at Alibag. It is at a distance of 30 k.m. from Karjat. From Mumbai via Panvel and Khopoli, Pali is at a distance of 124 k.m.
From Pune via Lonavala and Khopoli, Pali is at a distance of 111 k.m.
Regular bus services are available from Mumbai, Pine, Karjat and Panvel.
Mumbai – Khopoli is 90 k.m. and Khopoli – Pali is 38 k.m..
It is possible to go to Pali from Nagpthane on Mumbai – Goa highway
Nagothane – Pali is 13 k.m.
