The society has under its management. Another educational institution, namely the Jawaharlal English School and junior college at Maharshi Nagar, Pune, which was set up in the year 1962.
The society’s unrelenting quest for providing a better environment and modern educational facilities for the development of academic, physical, moral, social and aesthetic values of up-coming generation, prompted it to acquire sufficient land to set up the Hillgreen high school & Junior college in its present healthy, pollution-free, picturesque location at pisoli.
Starting with a nursery class set up in the year 1994 with just 10 students. Hillgreen high school has achieved an astonishing progress over the years in terms of student’s strength and infrastructure development.
HHS & JC follows the SSC & HSC curriculum set up by Maharashtra SSC board. Through the medium of instruction is primarily English, the students are also taught other language, such as Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam. The school has well-qualified and experienced teachers.
The maiden batch of students from HHS appeared in the SSC examination held in March 2005. All of them passed with creditable percentage of marks, thus securing a 100% success for the school.
The school has very spacious and airy classrooms, well-equipped computer and science laboratories, a state of art library with a treasure of valuable books and journals, a vast playground, besides a clean dining area for the students. HHS is one of the very few schools, which provides computer education to the students from standard I to X based on NIIT syllabus.Because of this, when a student passes out from std X, he/she would have acquired a considerable amount of knowledge on computer operation. NIIT awards its prestigious certificates every year to all the successful students and these certificates will stand them in good stead while persning their future academic/ professional careers.
The students of HHS are also being imparted the training in yoga and Karate by professionals in this field for their overall physical and mental development. They are also given scientific training in various disciplines of sports and games by well-qualified Physical Training Teachers.
The school conducts yearly medical check up of all the students, teachers and staff by eminent doctors so as to ensure that all of them maintain a good health.
The student teacher ratio in every class being 30:1 or thereabout, every student receives personal attention and monitoring from the teachers. Regular evaluations are conducted to assess the progress of the students.

We believe that learning should not be limited by the walls of the campus. Children should be given ample opportunity to go out, see and experience life as it is in the real world. This will introduce them to reality and help them mature into complete and self-reliant human beings. To this effect, many expeditions and outings are organised where groups of children are taken to factory sites, science laboratories, zoological parks, museums, historical and cultural sites and other places of interest. Treks, nature trails, picnics are also regularly organised.
These are not only enjoyable outings for the children, but are also useful learning tools, helping to educate them about various flora and fauna. We also take the children to visit villages and farms around the school campus, and encourage them to interact with the local, rural populace. Such activities open up new windows in the minds of children and expose them to varied and diverse stimuli, which go a long way in nurturing healthy thinking minds. Also the fact that it exposes them to a myriad different social environments.

The Hillgreen School is an English medium, HSC & SSC affiliated school and our educational framework follows the curriculum prescribed by the Board. Going beyond the curriculum, we always encourage our children to expand their horizons - to include other intellect and personality developing activities which makes learning fun.

Our Teachers:-
All subjects are taught by skilled, qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers - all experts in imparting education to children. These teachers prepare the children not only to excel in their academics, but also in the real world outside. Tolerant, understanding and open minded, they leverage modern and innovative teaching methods to extract outstanding results. What's more, the sprinkling of teachers from NGO backgrounds ensures that each child has a sensitive and compassionate sounding board to round off the learning experience.
Sharing the conviction of the school, that learning should be a fun-filled and joyous experience, these teachers are also friends and guides to the children. They are the exhilarating wind beneath the fledgling wings of the children that helps them to soar high.
Academics:-
Children have unlimited potential and infinite ability within them to achieve a lot. What is important, is that we recognise each child's individual inclinations and aptitude at an early stage. Only then can they be exposed to the right stimuli in order to develop their specific talents.
While learning or undertaking projects, inside the classroom and outside, students are motivated to work together in small groups. This not only helps them appreciate the importance of teamwork, but also provides the training ground on which to exercise their leadership skills.
The lowest class is Nursery, and goes up to Std. XII.
Indoor Activities:-
Dramatics, Elocution, Debates, Singing, Music, Table Tennis and Chess are some of the indoor activities held. Apart from this, the students are also involved in social service, educational tours and a host of other activities.
Since it is our endeavour to cater to the all-round development of our students' personalities, and prepare each one to face life as a leader of the future, we give a lot of importance to the co-curricular activities, as it is these activities that develop certain qualities of leadership such as initiative, team work, co-operation, quick thinking, etc. Various responsibilities are given to students which they are expected to carry out diligently, under the guidance of the staff. Students are also given appointments through a system of prefects, captains and monitors, who have the additional responsibility of maintaining discipline along with their normal responsibilities.
Fees & Bus Fare:-
All the payments should be made by cheque at the designated counter at the school office before 12.00 noon every day except Sundays.
Fees once paid will not be refunded for any reason, whatsoever, no representation for refund of fees shall be entertained under any circumstances, whatsoever.
As far as possible the parents or their representatives should come to the school and make payment of the fees, rather than entrusting that responsibility to the students.
All the payments shluld be made at the designated counter at the school office. Payments by cheques are accepted by the school. But , if any such cheques is dishonoured by the bank on presentation by the school for payment. An additional amount of 100/ towards bank charges over and above the amount of dishonoured cheque shall be payable byDD. On the very first occasion of such dishonour itself, the computer records of the concerned student(s) will be marked with the remark “ cheque not accepted” and thereafter, all the payments in respect of the student(s) in question will be accepted only by DD
No student shall be allowed to sit for any test or examination unless all the payments, which are due from him/her to the school, are paid in full.
School Bus Facility:-
The school bus facility to the students of our school is being provided by Kerala people’s education society. (KPES). The student desirous of availing of the school bus facility are requested to submit their application in the prescribed from directly to the manager (administration) or the office superintendent of KPES. or tel: 020.26970663.
Admissions:-
The application forms shall be available in the school office, along with the prospectus. Kindly go through the prospectus very carefully before filling the admission form. Normally, each form should be properly filled and submitted to the school office well in advance, for the following academic year.
All application forms shall be processed and the children may be interviewed and/or tested by the school.
If a student is offered admission, then the original leaving certificate, issued by the previous school, should be submitted to this school. Without the original leaving certificate of the previous school, no admission can be confirmed. While taking the leaving certificate of the previous school, please be absolutely certain that all the details are entered correctly, such as the spellings of the names, the date of birth, the class in which the student is studying, etc.
If a student comes from a school which is located in another state or union territory in India, then the leaving certificate issued by the previous school shall have to be counter signed by the appropriate educational authority of that state or union territory to show that the school is a recognised school.
For students coming from other countries, their leaving certificates shall have to be counter signed by the Indian Consulates or Embassies in those countries.
Without the counter signature of the appropriate authority, the leaving certificate of the previous school shall not be accepted and in such cases, the admission cannot be confirmed for those students who come from schools located outside Maharashtra State or abroad.
