Gurukul School In Pune

Gurukul School In Pune

About school:-Educational Philosophy:
Gurukul strives to enhance a child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development in the most crucial years of the child’s growth. We encourage children to inculcate a positive attitude towards learning, which will hold them in good stead throughout life. To meet this goal, it is essential to help children set realistic goals and undertake challenges in school that would hone their capabilities.

Gurukul’s distinct tradition, culture of innovation and indomitable school spirit, provides a fertile learning field for the New Age Child. Gurukul is an inclusive school where we have students of varying abilities helped with personalised attention. The teacher’s role in this enterprise is more to inspire than to teach - to be a facilitator, role model and a guide.

Creating a quality learning environment involves everyone - parents, students, teachers, support staff and volunteers, each bringing a unique perspective and contribution towards fulfilling the school philosophy. They are essential ingredients of our school’s continuing success.

Our Motto:Swadhyayshakti (Discovering inner strength)Our Vision:-
A community of intergenerational learners that embraces integrity and compassion. We ignite and empower young minds.

Our Spirit:-

    academics to education
teaching and studying to learning and assimilation
    regimentation to self discipline
short cuts and excuses to accountability and responsibility
unhealthy rivalry and stress to supportive friendly competitiveness
    complacency to excellence
ignorance and apathy to awareness and involvement

Saraswati Educational Society:-
The Saraswati Educational Society is the brain child of people passionate about children, and their development.

The idea of starting a school that would emphasise on and implement the concept of "Learn through Life" evolved during a discussion between Mrs Mrinmayee Bhave (founder of Daffodils Nursery School, Pune), Dr Prakash Bhave (a practising Radiologist) and Mrs. Vineeta Nagarkar (former Vice-Principal of Jnana Prabodhini, Pune) in 1992.

This was further conceived and conceptualised to merge the ancient ‘gurukula’ system with the emerging trends of the modern day education system.

Strong determination, persistence, faith, and sincere efforts of like-minded enthusiasts further led to the foundation of the Saraswati Educational Society, the authority under which Gurukul operates.

Gurukul, a day-boarding school, was started by Saraswati Educational Society

The idea was conceived by Mrs. Vineeta Nagarkar (former Vice Principal of Jnana Prabodhini, Pune), Dr Prakash Bhave (a practising Radiologist) and Mrs Mrinmayee Bhave (founder of Daffodils Nursery
School, Pune.

General Discipline:-

Parents and students should keep in mind the following principles of discipline laid down in the Secondary School Code (1986) Rule 56: Students should realise that they are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in school but also for their general behaviour outside reported/or observed objectionable conduct out of school on the part of students shall make them liable to disciplinary action.

Students are expected to have regular attendance and study habits, prompt obedience, courtesy in speech and conduct, cleanliness of dress and person (including socks and shoes) each day.

Students are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours FOR ANY REASON. Half days or Short leave is not permitted. If the student is required to attend some important event during school hours, she/he will have to remain absent for the whole day. No discussion or queries will be entertained in this regard.

The Management has the right to charge / take disciplinary action for habitual defaulters who break the rules and regulations of the school.

The final decision to grant or refuse admission and to retain or dismiss a child rests with the management alone.

The student must look after her/his own belongings. Raincoats, caps, sweaters, umbrellas, change of clothes, if any, and all books, bags etc. MUST be marked with the name and class of the owner.

The school is not responsible for students staying on the school campus, before or after school hours.

Only students from class 6 and up will be given permission to appear for competitive exams.

Parents/Guardians and others are not permitted to go to the class to meet the student or any teacher/s during school hours.

Parents/Guardians should bring any complaints they may have to the Principal and NOT to the teacher/s.

When writing to the Principal, parents/guardians are requested to mention the standard and division in which the student is studying.
