About Us:-
M.C.E.S, was established in the year 1948 by Late Mr. Abdul Kadir Khan and others, with an objective of providing education to the economically, educationally and socially weaker sections of the society. It is an educational society registered under the Society's Registration Act of 1860 and also a Public Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. It is also registered under section 12 (a) of Income Tax Act 1961 and is exempted u/s 80G of the said Act by the Income Tax Commissioner, Pune.

The M.C.E. Society is one of the oldest educational organizations of Pune & has done pioneering work in the field of education. Within a span of 15 years the M.C.E.Society from a humble beginning of 4 schools has been transformed into an excellent educational complex of higher, medical, technical and professional academic institutions in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Management Sciences, Architecture, Dental Sciences, Hospitality Studies & Information Technology.

Academics:-
    The Curriculum has been designed with the help of the industry, to meet the demands of the latest trends.
    The academic calendar is well defined and there is scope for all types of activities including Curricular, Co-Curricular, and Extra Curricular. The students have also been provided with refreshing summer and winter breaks which will also help them to study additional courses and undergo industrial training and projects.


    The Examination is based on Continuous assessment which includes Class Tests, Mid Semester Test, End Semester Test and Assessment by Teacher. The Assessment and revaluation Process is completely transparent and the students can see their answer books and receive suggestions (if any) by the respective subject teachers.
    Credit and Relative Grading systems are compatible and it shifts the focus from exam oriented studies to learning.

The highlights of the Curriculum designed by the college are:-

    Interdisciplinary approach by way of interdisciplinary subjects, Electives and Projects
    Track Module helps the students to choose a mini specialization in his Branch
    Flexibility to choose subjects by the way of disciplinary, inter-disciplinary Professional Development, General Proficiency subjects and Open Electives.
    Professional Development Subjects in Second and third year bridges the gap between industry and college. What makes the subjects more attractive is that some of the courses are directly offered by the industry.


    General Proficiency Subjects help improve the overall personality of the student and inculcate other personality traits such as street smartness, Communication skills, spoken English etc
    The college is also working on introducing more flexibility to choose the subjects in coming years.
    All the students will enjoy the system developed by the college

Achievements:

1. N.S.S. UNIT:-
The college has an N.S.S. unit of 250 students. Students are selected to enroll in N.S.S. after an interview and inclination test. Students from Science, Arts, Commerce & Computer Science can join the N.S.S. activities on regular college days, on holidays, in camps and in other programmes. Two years of successful N.S.S. participation by any student fetches 5 grade points to their academic results according to the University rules.  Recently the college has been awarded the prestigious National Indira Gandhi NSS Award for being one of the Best N.S.S. Unit in the country by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and also the Best N.S.S. Programme Officer Award to Dr. M.G. Mulla, Lecturer in Dept. of Commerce.
Our college is actively involved in Samartha Bharat Abhiyan of University of Pune. We have adopted Peth village (Tal.Ambegaon, Dist. Pune)

The college gives importance to extra-curricular activities like dramatics, singing, acting, debate, quiz, seminar and poster Competitions. Students participate in inter-collegiate and other competitions and win prizes. The Institute also conducts several such activities on the campus.

Abeda Inamdar   Senior College gives an excellent platform to the students for their exposure in the field of art & craft, annual gathering etc. Interested students can participate along with Aesthetic Committee in charges.

Every year a group of students forms a cultural group and participates in well known competitions. These students have been consistently winning a large number of prizes every year.

Students of the Institute are also encouraged to practice and participate in sports. The students have won many prizes in sports. The Institute provides all necessary support and facilities for participating in sports competitions. Every year intra class and inter-class sports competitions are held to promote sports activity.

Admission Fees:-

Applications for admission to the college should be made in the prescribed form by all the students (including those who are in the college in the previous years) immediately after the declaration of the results of the examination of the previous year. The applicant should carefully choose the courses/subjects that student wishes to offer.
F.Y.B.A./B.Com./B.Sc./B.Sc (COMPUTER SCIENCE)/BBA/BCA

After passing the H.S.C. (std XII) Arts/Science/Commerce examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination, students will be eligible for admission to the F.Y.B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc. (Computer Science)/BBA/BCA classes respectively according to the regulations of the University of Pune.


Eligibility:-
All the students seeking admission to F.Y.B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc (Computer Science)/BBA/BCA courses have to obtain eligibility certificate from the University of Pune. Students should collect the computerized eligibility form of the University from the college office by paying Rs.50/-(Rupees Fifty only).The same should be correctly filled and submitted to the college office along with the eligibility fee of Rs.50/-(or as per the University Rules) and other related documents (i.e. Original statement of marks of XII std. issued by the Board and two xerox copies of the statement of marks) before 15th of August.

Students from other states have to submit the application for eligibility to the college office as per the procedure mentioned above.

The college will not be held responsible for cancellation of the admission of a student due to late submission of the eligibility form or due to incorrect and inadequate information.
Students from other universities

Students from other Universities in Maharashtra will have to apply for a certificate of eligibility from the University of Pune in the prescribed form by paying eligibility fee of Rs.120/- through the college. They will have to produce the following original documents:

    Passing certificate of previous examination.
    Statement of Marks of the qualifying examination.
    Transfer certificate, Migration certificate and Character certificate.    Xerox copy of Passport, Student's visa.

S.Y and T.Y.B.A. / B.Com. / B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Computer Science) / M.Sc. (Microbiology) / M.Sc. (Analytical/Organic Chemistry)/ M.Sc (Mathematics) / M.A.(English) / M.A.(Sociology) / M.Com.

Admission to these classes will be governed by the rules of the University of Pune and will be in accordance with the A.T.K.T. rules issued from time to time by the University.

Students who wish to seek admission to S.Y./T.Y.B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.C.A/B.B.A. classes after passing their F.Y./S.Y.B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.A. examinations respectively from other universities will be admitted provisionally on the submission of the following documents:

    Application for the Certificate of Eligibility.
    Statement of Marks.
    No objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution, last attended.
    Bonafide Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate.

Foreign Students:-

The International Centre of the University of Pune looks after the admission of foreign students. Foreign students will have to pay Entrance fee, Eligibility fee and Medical test fee according to University rules to the University International Centre.

    A foreign student who has been granted admission to any of the courses after passing the qualifying examination from a board or university outside India will have to appear for the PROFICIENCY TEST IN ENGLISH conducted by the University of Pune.

    Remedial English Course for Foreign Students (RECFS):
    An international (Foreign) student who fails in the Proficiency Test in English or fails to appear for the test shall be required to join the Remedial English Course for International Students to be conducted by University of Pune. A tuition fee of Rs 500/- shall be charged from each foreign student for joining the RECFS.
    Fees-In addition to the Entrance and Medical Fees, the student has to pay Tuition Fee and other fees in the college Office.


    Admission of Foreign Students:
    All foreign students who will be joining different courses this academic year after completion of First Year Course can directly seek admission in the college, subject to rules and regulations of the International Centre. All such International students shall register their name's in the International Centre of the University by filling in the registration forms.

LIBRARY:-

The college library is housed in a separate three storeyed building. The library has the facility of two modern reading halls and a stack room. The college library has been computerized to a great extent. It also has a separate Internet room having 24 hrs. fibre-optic internet connectivity for the students & staff. The college has a well qualified librarian and other supporting staff.

    The college library is open from 8.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, while the reading hall remains open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.on all days.
    A student should obtain the identity card from the library as soon as he/she takes admission. The identity card is an important document and should be safely preserved and brought to college daily.
    No student is allowed to enter the library without his/her identity card and the same should be shown at the entrance of the library.
    In case the identity card is lost,  the student should inform the librarian immediately in writing and apply for a duplicate identity card which will be issued on a payment of Rs 25/-. If the original card is found later the  student should return the duplicate one. A student should not keep two identity cards in his/her possession. THE USE OF TWO IDENTITY CARDS IS NOT PERMISSIBLE AND ANY STUDENT VIOLATING THE RULES IS LIABLE TO SEVERE PUNISHMENT.
    The student will be responsible if her identity card is misused in any way by any other person.

LIBRARY FACILITIES:-
    The library offers a computerized index of all texts for easy reference.
    A student who desires to borrow the books to study at home will have to pay a sum of Rs.50/- as caution money. The student should submit his/her caution money reciept and identity card to the librarian for the preparation of the library card. On this card only one book will be issued for home reading for a period of six days only.  Students are expected to return the book.
    borrowed by them on or before the due date stamped on the issue slip.
    Reference books like dictionaries, encyclopedia, atlases, rare books, current periodicals,  University Question paper sets etc. will not be issued for home lending. These can however be made available in the library during regular working hours.
    A student is expected to check the pages of the book before leaving the issuing counter and if any pages are missing the same should be immediately brought to the notice of the librarian. Any student failing to do so will be held responsible for any damage etc. found while returning the book.
    Students are not allowed to borrow books on subjects other than those prescribed for them .
    Students are not allowed to lend any book belonging to the library to any other person.
    No book will be issued to any student either in the reading hall or for home study unless the student produces her identity card.
    Book Bank facility is provided to poor, needy & deserving students.
    The college library has made available the Inter-Library Loan facilities to access books from Jayker Library, University of Pune, The British Council Library, Pune, Deccan Muslim Institute & Library, Pune & other libraries in the city.

READING ROOM:-
    The reading halls remain open from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. on all working days.
    Students should maintain silence in the Reading Hall and not cause any disturbance to other students in any manner. Indiscipline in the Reading Hall is viewed very seriously and the student will be liable to strict disciplinary action.
    Students should not mark or mutilate the library books in any way.    Text books, Question Paper sets, syllabi, magazines and reference books are issued for reading in the reading room. Books borrowed by the student in the reading room should be returned at the counter before leaving the library and should not be taken home under any circumstances.


    Any student disobeying the rules of the library and the reading hall will be liable to strict disciplinary action like cancellation of her membership of the library or even rustication from the college.
    The library attendant on duty at the entrance of the library is authorized to examine every thing that passes into or out of the library.
    The college leaving or transfer certificate will not be issued to any student who has not returned the library books.

INTERNET FACILITIES:-

                None can deny the importance of internet in the present times. It is an open access to global knowledge. An internet connection gives access to all possible fields of study. Keeping this in mind, the college has free of cost 24 hour fiber-optic connectivity throughout the campus so that the staff and students can make effective use of technology.


HOSTEL:-

The college has hostels in the campus which provides residential accommodation to students. The application form along with the rules of the hostel can be obtained from the office of the warden of the hostel.
