ADMISSIONS: PROCEDURE:-
The steps in the Admission Procedure at Akshara are as follows: REGISTRATION: The Registration Form and Brochure are to be purchased from the School Office. Parents to register their child for the Admission Process by submitting the completed Registration Form (till Class X) | (Class XI) at the School Office to the Admission Coordinator.
PRINCIPAL INTERACTION: Parents to meet the Principal alongwith the child as per the communicated meeting slot.
PROVISIONAL ADMISSION: The school will grant the provisional admission after payment of the first installment of the School Charges.
CONFIRMATION: The admission will be confirmed after the completed Admission Form is submitted along with documents like the School Leaving Certificate, Medical Fitness certificate and last Academic Report.
School Charges:-
School Charges are all inclusive covering academics, meals, uniforms, books, hobbies and sports.
Akshara does not take any Caution Money or Donations.

A proficiency test in English, Maths and Hindi/ French will be conducted for students applying for admission to Classes I to X to understand the current competency level. (Syllabus will be of the class previous to the one for which admission is being sought.)

Akshara International provides safe and comfortable transport facility to all its students through a fleet of school owned and outsourced buses. The bus routes are planned at the start of the academic session to optimize the travel time of the students. Parents can refer to the School Transport document to get an idea of the areas serviced by current bus routes.
Following safety measures have been adopted by the school to ensure security of the students:
» All the buses comply with the guidelines for School Buses laid out by the State Transport Authority (RTO)
» Buses get certified on compliance at the start of the academic session and their maintenance is monitored.
» The school campus has a safe boarding area where the buses get lined up.
» Teachers are assigned bus wise boarding duty to ensure all children are seated safely in the correct bus.
» A Transport Support Desk monitors the pick up and drop. It handles queries from parents during daily transit.
» Workshops are held to educate the staff (drivers, conductors and lady attendants) on discipline and safety.
Academic Program:-Academics at Akshara has five key components:-
1. Well Designed Curriculum:
» The pre-primary curriculum has been designed by Dr. Vinita Apte, who is an authority on ECE (Early Childhood Education). It includes carefully designed competency and skill based programme, while providing a wide range of experiences and materials to foster and enhance physical, motor, social, emotional, aesthetic and intellectual development.
» The school being affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi (CBSE) follows the curriculum defined by NCERT for the middle and secondary section classes (6th onwards). French and Hindi are offered as second language.
2. Modern Teaching Methodology
New methods of Teaching like use of LCD, Audio-Visual, Story Method, Exploration and Research, Group Discussions (Debate) are used to make learning an enjoyable experience. Technology resources like digital white boards, projectors and internet enable the integration of digital multimedia content with the text books material in the teaching-learning process across all classes.
3. Experiential Learning Model
An activity based experiential learning approach has been adopted to stimulate the development of multiple intelligences, inherent in each child.
4. Scientific Assessment
Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation has been adopted with 2 Formative and one Summative assessment in each term. The small class size allows the teacher to monitor the learning progress of each child and recommend Remedial / Advanced Learning based on the progress.
5. Excellent Supporting Infrastructure
The infrastructure has been carefully designed to enable the learning process. For example, the pre-primary section is on the ground floor and designed for easy access to resources like Doll House, outdoor playarea, sand pit and cycling track.
The secondary section has well equipped science labs, maths lab, computer lab, internet lab and library.
Classrooms:-
Akshara International offers well-lit, airy, spacious classrooms with age appropriate child friendly furniture. The class décor and the acoustics makes learning enjoyable and comfortable.
Every child has an individual cubby in the classroom to keep their books and belongings. The schoolbag is thus very light as child carries home only the school diary and a text book or two.
The DIGITAL CLASSROOMS offers a plethora of multimedia tools to enhance learning through visual sensory experience. The rooms have
